The binding properties of the cucurbit[7]uril host with three structurally related ferrocene-containing guests, ferrocenyltrimethylammonium, ferrocenylmethyltrimethylammonium and ferrocenylethyltrimethylammonium, were studied using 1H NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, voltammetry and computational methods.
